Subject Description
MIT9310 Enterprise Architecture provide students the skills and knowledge to design, implement, and manage complex enterprise architectures. The subject explores the fundamentals of enterprise architecture, providing a comprehensive understanding of various architectural domains and how to create and manage the technological blueprint for an organisation. The subject explores industry best practices and frameworks for enterprise architecture, enabling students to make informed decisions about aligning technology with organisational strategy. Students learn to develop and document the enterprise architecture artifacts, roadmaps and integration plans and disseminate the information to stakeholders of non-technical background.

- Business, application and technology architecture
- Architecture models and repositories
- Microservices and event-driven architectures
- Security, strategy and integration modelling
Subject Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate and apply deep knowledge in the field of enterprise architecture and the related frameworks including a range of enterprise applications.
- Design comprehensive enterprise architecture artifacts such as roadmaps, reference models, and integration plans, to address specific organisational strategies.
- Evaluate different enterprise architecture domains such as business, information, application, technology, and security and their adherence to recognised frameworks and methodologies.
- Document recommendations for an organisation’s specific enterprise architecture following industry best practices and frameworks.
- Effectively communicate enterprise architecture concepts and recommendations to stakeholders across technical and non-technical audiences.
Assessment
AIIHE uses a variety of assessment tools to guide and assess each student’s achievement of the subject learning outcomes. In this subject, students undertake portfolio students will compile a portfolio that includes their work on practical exercises, class discussions, and smaller projects related to enterprise architecture, case study analysis (individual), and students will work in groups to design a new or improved comprehensive enterprise architecture for a fictional organisation using a chosen framework and present their work in class. These tasks assess the knowledge, applied skills, critical analysis, communication and collaborative capabilities relevant to the subject.
Summary of Assessment
- Students must attempt all assessment tasks, and achieve an overall mark of at least 50%, to pass this subject.
- Assessment in this subject is consistent with and informed by the AIIHE Assessment Policy and Procedure.
| Assessment Type | Due Date | Weighting |
|---|---|---|
| Assessment 1: Portfolio | Weeks 2 to 12 | 30% |
| Assessment 2: Case Study Analysis (Individual) | Week 9 | 30% |
| Assessment 3: Group Report and Presentation | Week 11, 13 | 40% |
Learning Resources
AIIHE will update the topic coverage of the subject and the available relevant learning resources at the time of subject delivery.
